Female bosses vs male bosses

Female bosses vs male bosses. Who is the best and the worse? What are the pros and cons of these two types of bosses?

Who makes the best boss?

Male or female? It depends on who you ask I think. My opinion is given at the end of this post.

Pros of female bosses

• They are much more sensitive than men and therefore understands emotional things better than men
• Female bosses also understands the difficulty that women in the workplace face and also the difficulty that a working Mum face for example sick children

Cons of female bosses

• Female bosses are more prone to making emotional decisions.
• They tend to be very competitive with other females even those who pose no threat to them.
• Female bosses don’t find it easy to give credit to others.
• Female bosses tend to gossip in the workplace.

Pros of male bosses

• They are for the most part not emotional decision makers.
• Male bosses mostly have a no gossip approach
• They also have a no nonsense approach to office politics
• Male bosses give praise more easily.

Cons of male bosses

• Male bosses are not always sensitive to the difficulty working Mothers face.
• Some male bosses think it is their right to make sexual advances.

My opinion

I have worked for both Male and Female bosses. During my time with the S.A. Police service most of my bosses were Male while most of my bosses in the Private sector were women. The male bosses in the Police force were mostly very good bosses however there were 2 of them who were complete jerks. The only female boss in the Police force used to scream at us and throw temper tantrums. Something the male bosses didn’t do. From the 4 female bosses I had in the private sector 3 of them were a nightmare to work for while 1 was a very good boss as was the only male boss. Overall I have to say that I favor male bosses over female bosses.
